The Role

As Product Manager, you will be the connective tissue between commercial stakeholders, compliance subject matter experts, and engineering teams — translating complex banking and regulatory requirements into a clear, prioritized product backlog that delivers measurable business value. You will own the roadmap and requirements process for a B2B2C SaaS platform, ensuring every feature shipped has a clear rationale, a defensible ROI, and specifications tight enough that engineering never has to guess.

What You'll Do

  • Own and maintain the product backlog end-to-end — writing, refining, and prioritizing user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria with a level of precision that eliminates ambiguity for development teams.
  • Build structured, evidence-based ROI frameworks for feature prioritization, incorporating customer revenue impact, compliance risk, operational cost, and strategic value — and present these to senior stakeholders with confidence.
  • Lead discovery sessions with clients, compliance officers, and internal SMEs to surface requirements, validate assumptions, and stress-test proposed solutions before a line of code is written.
  • Translate regulatory and compliance mandates — including IRS form filing obligations — into actionable product requirements that balance legal obligation with user experience.
  • Own requirements across core retail banking product areas including bank account management, cheque handling and processing, card issuance, and payment collections — ensuring each domain is well-specified and sequenced coherently on the roadmap.
  • Partner with engineering leads to break down complex features into well-scoped, deliverable increments — sequenced to maximize learning and minimize rework.
  • Act as the primary point of escalation for scope, acceptance, and definition-of-done decisions throughout the sprint cycle.
  • Maintain clear, living product documentation — functional specs, process flows, edge case libraries — that serves as the single source of truth across product, engineering, and QA.
  • Work closely with client-facing teams to gather structured feedback from B2B customers and their end users, feeding insight back into the roadmap in a systematic, prioritized way.
  • Track and report on delivery outcomes against business objectives, closing the loop between what was built and what value it generated.

You'll Bring

  • 4+ years as a Product Owner or Product Manager in a B2B SaaS environment, with exposure to banking, financial services, or compliance technology.
  • Exceptional requirements writing skills — you produce user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specs that developers and QA can work from without follow-up.
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience building ROI models or business cases that have influenced real prioritization decisions at senior levels.
  • Hands-on experience with retail banking product domains — bank account management, cheque handling, card issuance, and payment collections — with enough depth to write requirements that hold up under engineering scrutiny.
  • Comfortable working in a B2B2C model, understanding the tension between the needs of institutional clients and their end customers, and knowing how to balance both in the product.
  • Experience running sprint ceremonies (grooming, planning, review, retro) and working within agile delivery frameworks.
  • Analytically rigorous — you use data, not instinct alone, to defend prioritization decisions and hold yourself accountable to outcomes.

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to regulatory technology or compliance automation platforms serving financial institutions.
  • Familiarity with frameworks like RICE, MoSCoW, or weighted scoring for formal prioritization.
  • Background using tools like Jira, Confluence, Productboard, or Linear for backlog and documentation management.
  • Any formal product qualification is a bonus, not a requirement.
