Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Under the direct supervision of the Director of Human Resources Manager and the general supervision of the Executive Vice President of Human Resources, plans, coordinates and carries out policies and directives relating to all phases of human resources activity.

TYPICAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plans and conducts new employee in-processing orientation and benefit program meetings.
  • Assists in the planning, implementation and administration of all phases of benefits programs.
  • Assists in the administration of the 401(K) Savings Plan and notification of eligibility, conducting employee meetings and processing of deferral elections and enrollment applications.
  • Prepares and submits monthly billing for Group Health and Life Insurance and other supplemental insurance products.
  • Acts as Assistant Custodian of the Company Records.
  • Processes and maintains records of insurance coverage’s, pension plans and personnel transactions including new hires promotions, wage increases, transfers, demotions and terminations.
  • Processes documentation and demands related to Unemployment Compensation claims, employment and salary verification, IRS levies, child support payments and other garnishment directives
  • Meets with managers and supervisors if requested to conduct employee counseling sessions.
  • Posts job requisitions, assist candidates with applications, review applications and interview candidates for open positions.
  • Advises management on Policy and Procedure issues.
  • Compiles reporting for outside entities to comply with Federal, State or Local regulations including EEOC reporting and 5500 returns.
  • Assists in monitoring compliance with Federal and State laws and regulations governing employee rights and related employment issues, including the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Civil Rights Act of 1991 and Family Medical Leave Act.
  • Performs duties such as file maintenance and correspondence preparation.
  • May be required to perform other related duties as requested.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Minimum 2 years of Human Resources and supervision or management experience.

Skills: Must possess leadership and problem-solving skills, good oral and written communication skills and be adept in effective and persuasive speaking.

Licenses: Valid Florida driver’s license with a good driving record.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Must be able to understand and perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and percentages.
  • Must be able to access, input and retrieve information from a computer system and 10-key calculator.
  • Must be able to read and understand general correspondence, legal documents, contracts, proposals, policy manuals, employment handbooks and journals, benefit plan documents and other human resources related materials.
  • Must be able to produce reports, manuals, handbooks, critiques, summaries, proposals, legal documents, contracts, and general correspondence.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.
  • Must be able to communicate by telephone or in person in clear fluent English in a courteous, friendly and professional manner with employees, management, customers, vendors, business associates, guests and other persons.
