The Role: Systems Engineer - Integration & Test
As a key member of our Hardware team, you’ll be contributing to the design and development of our current and next generation robotics system. The Systems Engineer - Integration and Test is responsible for ensuring the correct implementation of system architectures and layouts, and responsible for design and development of novel testing and manufacturing processes and equipment, to produce pioneering products for oral surgery.

What you’ll do:
  • Participate in the bring up and hardware/software integration of new robotics systems.
  • Design and development of testing processes and equipment with specific focus on performance characterization.
  • Write test plans and procedures and create test cases for the product.
  • Conduct performance tests of new prototypes.
  • Support root cause analysis effort across Hardware and Software and recommend appropriate actions to relevant engineering teams, following internal and external reports.
  • Support and improve Verification and Validation activities, as well as advanced troubleshooting for systems’ field or manufacturing roadblocks
  • Write up, in collaboration with the Quality team, the final QA and test procedures for the quality technicians.
  • Conduct initial training and provide technical support when needed.
  • Support training of technicians’ crews by aiding translation of established procedures towards the processes involved in Neocis system’s integration.
What you’ll bring:
  • BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Computer)
  • Use of and maintenance of laboratory equipment (power supplies, multimeters, power tools, tapping jigs, manual tools)
  • Advanced scripting experience for automating test execution (e.g. Python, Matlab, etc)
  • Demonstrated experience in data post-processing, statistical analysis and presentation, via R/Matlab/Python/Excel or other spreadsheet.
  • Selection and integration of multi-purpose components for benchtop test beds Experience with realization/integration of mixed-material mechanical assemblies, for rapid prototyping and custom parts’ bring-up
  • Experience with grounding and safety considerations for electrical harnesses.
  • Understanding of flowcharts and functional diagrams.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, interpersonal skills with the ability to self-direct required.
  • Experience interfacing with and managing external suppliers and vendors.
  • Working knowledge of safety precautions and PPEs.
  • Preferred additional knowledge and skills:
    • ISO 13485 -Medical Devices Quality Management Systems – Requirements for Regulatory Purposes preferred
    • IEC 60601-1 – Safety standard for electro-medical devices preferred
    • FDA 21 CFR Part 820 – FDA Quality System Regulation preferred
    • Experience with command-line environment (Windows *.cmd or batch files, Linux).
    • Experience with data-collection/logging/analysis via basic interfaces (e.g. Arduino, DAQ).
    • Experience with laboratory equipment such as: signal generators, oscilloscope, 3-axis G-code machines, force transducers.
What else?
  • This is a full-time position. This position occasionally requires long hours and weekend work.
  • This is not a supervisory role
  • The position will require up to 10% travel
  • The main location of this role is in a manufacturing/clinical environment and requires:
    • This position requires the regular use of CMMs and machining equipment, and occasional use of CBCT scanners
    • Prolonged periods working on a computer.
    • Ability to lift/push/carry items up to 50 pounds.
    • Frequent exposure to moderate noise
